Hey everyone, it feels like so much has happened since we last heard from each other even though it hasn't been that long. It's a new year if that means anything, and while I haven't given you any new music on here recently I have been working as hard as ever on all my various projects. I've been writing a lot of songs that are more of a fun nature than deep, often a good quality for rock and roll. The plan is still to have an album of simple rock music available in the next few months, and in about a year or so have the second major album release, a followup to A Symmetry, that may or may not tread into the realm of artistic.
I never intended to talk politics on here, and I hardly am but I mostly want to express my enthusiasm and support for everything Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are doing with their public images to bring many people's attention to issues they might not otherwise be aware of. There's not one in particular I am passionate about, but I believe in everyone educating themselves as well as possible about any issue before making a stance or decision on it. Four years ago I voted for Barack Obama, and it was the first presidential election I was enthusiastic about. Over the course of the last four years, many of his previous supporters have become jaded with the job he has done. While I may have been more hopeful early on, I know he kind of inherited a crumbling castle and I don't feel like I know enough to make a proper judgment on his first term. I definitely don't consider myself belonging to a party, I will always vote for whatever makes sense, but I've thoroughly enjoyed the laughs provided by the circus of republican candidates this election year. In particular I would like to thank the aforementioned Stewart and Colbert for aggregating the best material for me to laugh at with their brilliant insight and narrative to the story that they are now finding themselves a part of as it unfolds. Their methods of educating people about the bewildering rules of SuperPACs and the many ways that politicians and individuals with money abuse the system for their own benefit have gone well beyond comedy, and to me is more of a public service at this point. So regardless of what happens this election year, thank you to everyone helping to alleviate misinformation, particularly if you can make us laugh while doing so.
